... to the faithful on the occasion of the IX World Meeting of Families. The plenary indulgence is granted “on the usual conditions (sacramental Confession, Eucharistic Communion and prayer for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff), in a spirit that is completely detached from affection for any sin, if they participate in some function” during the meeting...

The faithful who are unable to take part in this event—the text continues—may obtain the Plenary Indulgence on the same conditions if, “united in spirit and in thought with the faithful present in Dublin they recite as a family the Our Father, the Creed and other devout prayers in order to invoke from the Divine Mercy the aims mentioned above... The Diocese of San Bernardino is offering an opportunity to do just this via WMOF at the Diocese. 

Each of the six vicariates will have a week-long series of evenings for families around the WMOF themes, hosted by a different parish each night. 

Finally, we read in the last lines of the decree, “the partial indulgence is granted to the faithful whenever, with a contrite heart, in the indicated time they pray for the good of the families.”

Papa Francisco otorgara el don de la indulgencia… a los fieles que participen en el IX Encuentro Mundial de las Familias, que se celebrará en Dublín, Irlanda, del 21 al 25 de agosto de este año. Así lo ha anunciado la Penitenciaría Apostólica por medio de un decreto difundido este lunes 21 de mayo en el se señala que la indulgencia plenaria se concederá “a los fieles que, con las condiciones habituales (confesión sacramental, comunión eucarística y oración por las intenciones del Papa) y con ánimo alejado de cualquier pecado, participen devotamente en alguna de las ceremonias” que tendrán lugar durante el Encuentro en presencia del Papa.

Asimismo, aquellos fieles que no pueda participar en el evento, también podrán obtener la indulgencia en las condiciones citadas si “unidos espiritualmente a los fieles presentes en Dublín, recitan en familia el Padrenuestro, el Credo y otras oraciones piadosas”. La Diócesis de San Bernardino nos ofrece una oportunidad para hacer esto a través de WMOF en la Diócesis.

Cada de los seis vicariatos tendrá una serie de reuniones para la familia en una parroquia diferente cada día.

Por último, al final del decreto se indica que “se concede una indulgencia parcial a los fieles que oren con el corazón contrito por el bien de las familias”
